What I find so troubling about the below interview isn't Palin's inability to list a newspaper or magazine she's read. To be honest, I don't really care about that and do believe, with all my heart, that Palin has, in fact, read several newspapers and magazines in her life. While I have contended for sometime that she is unqualified to be President and therefore Vice President as well, I have never said she is unqualified to be Governor of Alaska. If she were to have never read a newspaper, I think I would re-state that. Thus, while most liberal blogs and left-leaning news outlets may imply that she's never read a newspaper, I find that foolish.
So, why is this video so troubling? Because it shows the extent to which her candidacy is a show. She's being so intricately coached by the McCain people that when asked an easy, personal question like "name a newspaper you've read to learn about the world," she can't answer it because she wasn't coached to do so. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz said it best when she said that Palin is a "Cliff Notes" candidate. That's very true with McCain's handlers providing the Cliff Notes. Want proof? See the interview below... ks
