I say this with the risk of being proven wrong later but I truly am curious. When speaking about Afghanistan, Palin kept referencing a Gen. Mclelland is. I try and follow the U.S. military engagements closely including the personnel in charge and I am usure who Gen McClelland, especially, since I believe the general who Biden was talking about was General David McKiernan who is right under Gen. Patraeus and did make a comment about the surge strategy not working in Afghanistan. Again, I very well could be wrong but I have no knowledge of a Gen McClelland who is high-up in Afghanistan and am truly hoping that Palin didn't simply make-up a name... Then again, that wouldn't surpise me.

UPDATE: Well, Palin didn't make up the name McClelland, problem is that Gen. George McClelland (seen below) was a CIVIL WAR general. What on earth was she talking about. Thanks to talkingpointsmemo.com for actually addressing this issue:
