"The two party conventions showcased vastly different directions for our country. Senator Obama and Senator Biden offered the new ideas and positive change America needs and deserves after eight years of failed Republican leadership. Senator McCain and Governor Palin did not.
"After listening to all of the speeches this week, I heard nothing that suggests the Republicans are ready to fix the economy for middle class families, provide quality affordable health care for all Americans, guarantee equal pay for equal work for women, restore our nation's leadership in a complex world or tackle the myriad of challenges our country faces.

McCain: "Um, I'll have my staff get back to you."
Analysis: The answer is 7. Can I borrow 2 or 3?
4. Mitt Romney: "I'm not going to close Guantanamo... I'm going to double it!"
Analysis: Um, the problem with Guantanamo isn't its space constraints... it's torture!
3. John McCain: "I'll follow Bin Laden to the gates of hell."
Analysis: Well, if he meant that literally then, John, you're a 72-year-old and not following anybody, anywhere. If he meant if figuratively, which I believe he did, then there's another problem: McCain perhaps the biggest advocate for keeping U.S. troops in Iraq. Bin Laden: not in Iraq.
2. Fox News talking head, Steve Doocy: "But the other thing about her, she does know about international relations because she is right up there in Alaska right next door to Russia "
Analysis: No analysis needed
1. Joe Biden: "Rudy Giuliani! Rudy Giuliani! All the guy says is a noun, a verb and 9/11!"
Analysis: Actually that's not true. Once he said, "terrorist attacks" instead of actually using the term "9/11." It was a nice change of pace for him.
